Hey 101-ers

We hope you are as excited as we are to start 101 Week in the next couple of days!

A lot of you have been asking some important questions so here is an official PSA FAQ:

You can also check out the SFUO's informative FAQ here.

PSA FAQ

Where and when will kits be available for pickup?

Kits are available for pick up September 1st and 2nd in front of Tabaret

What do i need to bring with me to pick up my kit?

You must bring your uOttawa student ID and a piece of government issued photo ID.  If you’re planning on buying your kit in person and/or adding the Calypso day, you should also bring cash or a credit card.

Just purchased my kit, what does our 101 Week Kit contain?

The contents of your kit will be revealed to you when you come pick up your kit. We can tell you however that it grants you access to all the Psychology Students’ Association’s (PSA) and Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) events.

Can i participate in 101 week without purchasing a 101 week kit?

No. You must purchase a kit from either the SFUO or another federated student body such as the PSA. Please refer to the SFUO's FAQ found here

When do we get to see the 101 Week event schedule?

It will be revealed to you when you come pick up your kit.

All University of Ottawa students who have purchased any of the 101 Week Kits can participate in SFUO events.

What is the difference between 'wet' and 'dry' events?

Wet events involve alcohol being served and only those deemed of legal drinking age (18+ in Quebec) can participate. A valid piece of government-issued ID will be required before boarding the buses to any wet event, regardless of your bracelet colour (see point below). Dry events do not involve any alcohol and are considered as all-ages events where anyone can participate.

I heard we will be issued bracelets, what are they and where do i get them?

Depending on your age, you will issued a coloured bracelet. Your bracelet colour indicates to guides that you are in fact a 101er and are allowed to be present at the event. The colour also indicates if you are of legal drinking age. In short, it serves as a identifier and as a proof of purchase.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE, EXCHANGE, PURPOSELY DAMAGE OR TURN OVER YOUR BRACELETS - IF CAUGHT, YOUR BRACELET WILL BE CUT AND YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN 101 WEEK EVENTS. THE SFUO AND THE PSA HOLD A ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS MATTER.

Who is UOSERT and can they cut my bracelet?

The University of Ottawa Emergency Response Team (UOSERT) is uOttawa dedicated volunteer first responders who are well trained to respond to medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency during 101 week, these are the ones you should see first. Members are identifiable by their red shirts. If you can’t see one, see a guide or executive so they may immediately escort you to a UOSERT member.

Please note that UOSERT members do not have the power to cut your bracelet when seeking treatment and anything you tell them will remain confidential. They are only there to help and ensure that you are safe- not to penalize you.

My 18th birthday is during 101 Week but i’ve already been issued an underage bracelet, will I now be able to participate in the wet events?

Absolutely and happy birthday! Simply bring a piece of ID to a PSA executive to inform them that your age has changed and we will issue you a shiny new bracelet.

I can’t purchase online, will you be selling kits in person?

Yes! We will be selling a limited quantity at our booth at the pickup location during the pickup times. Please note that we will only be accepting credit cards or cash. The price is $87.25 CAD.

When do online sales end?

You can purchase and reserve your kit online up until the Saturday, September 2nd at 11:59pm. We accept credit/debit cards/cash

What types of payment methods do you accept?

For online purchases, we accept credit and debit cards. For in-person purchases, we will  be accepting debit/credit and cash as valid forms of payment.

Can i be picked up at events if i want to leave early?

Absolutely not. Due to liability and safety reasons you cannot leave without us and with anyone (including your own mom). This policy applies to all events where transportation is required such as Calypso and Camp Fortune and there will be no exceptions made. If you absolutely must leave for whatever reason your bracelet will be cut and you forfeit your ability to participate in the rest of 101 Week events.
